Portsmouth Fishing Boats at Sunset

summer sunset in portsmouth harbor
Just one of the many fishing boats that call Portsmouth home. As the sun begins to set, these boats start returning from the sea to unload their catch. By late evening, this pier will be stacked 2 and sometimes 3 wide - all to be repeated again tomorrow.

Icy Nubble Lighthouse

The nubble lighthouse in winter after a storm
This was the scene at Cape Neddick on Wednesday evening after the storm cleared. As the light faded, the sky had some awesome pastel colors to offer up.

Kittery Foreside

a fishing boat at the kittery foreside dock
You wouldn't know it just by passing through town, but the Kittery waterfront has a strong maritime tradition that is still alive and well today. Be sure to check out the town docks to see some of this working waterfront, and also for a great view of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard!

Market Square Sunset

Beautiful sunset in market square downtown portsmouth
A beautiful sunset viewed from Market Square in downtown Portsmouth. Since it was just about rush hour, I decided to use a long exposure to make most of the heavy traffic disappear. If you look close, you can still see some blurs from the headlights.
