Some absolutely intense colors this morning out on the horizon helped to make this classic seacoast scene pop!

Storm Clouds and Buoys

Some intense storm clouds rolled through the town of South Bristol, Maine. I was able to find this pile of old buoys down on the docks to add some foreground interest to the scene.

Portsmouth Locks of Love

Hung up along the fences in Prescott Park. I started noticing these show up a few years back, and it seems they are taken down at the end of the year by the city.

Commercial Fishing Pier

Some early morning action at the commercial fishing pier in Portsmouth, NH. The sky was overcast, but a little sunshine broke through on the horizon and helped light up the bridge and shoreline in the background.

Whaleback Lighthouse at Sunset

Heading back into harbor after a day out on the water. This is the scene that every fisherman gets to enjoy as they pass by Whaleback Lighthouse and up the Piscataqua. Awesome! 

Full Moon Over Portsmouth Naval Prison

A trio of seagulls passes in front of the rising spring "worm moon", as it ascends just behind the abandoned prison on Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. There is much lore about this place being haunted ever since it shuttered it's doors in the 1970's, and I think capturing it with the full moon helps add to that eerie feeling!

Portsmouth South End Sunrise

And this is what keeps pulling me back to photograph the South End. Rich warm colors, incredible depth, smooth-as-glass reflections, the list goes on! I don't know if I could ever get tired of shooting here.

Prescott Park in Bloom

The trees in Prescott Park are in full bloom right now. A great time to visit the city of Portsmouth before it gets really crowded in the summer months.

Portsmouth Fishing Boats at Sunset

Just one of the many fishing boats that call Portsmouth home. As the sun begins to set, these boats start returning from the sea to unload their catch. By late evening, this pier will be stacked 2 and sometimes 3 wide - all to be repeated again tomorrow.
